About This Dataset#

Koessler L, Ternisien E, Cecchin T, Colnat-Coulbois S, Maillard L (Université de Lorraine / CHRU Nancy), Mendeley Data,

doi:10.17632/8wz3wvm9y5, CC BY 4.0. Release description (abridged): nine simultaneous EEG-SEEG datasets corresponding to mesial temporal networks in seven patients (three females, mean age 38 years) with temporal lobe epilepsy. Within each network the earliest interictal intracerebral spikes (IIS) with the highest amplitude were marked at the peak of the initial component (t0); EEG and SEEG segments are 1 s epochs centred on t0, band-pass filtered 1.5-30 Hz, no artifact rejection. Acquisition: 128-channel system, 512 Hz, analog 0.15 Hz high-pass, scalp FPz reference. Approved by the local ethics committee (CHRU Nancy).

simultaneous scalp EEG channels (release labels prefixed s, typed EEG), µV, float32, epochs written back to back

(New Segment marker per epoch); events.tsv gives one row per epoch with t0 at 0.5 s.

Simultaneous EEG-SEEG recordings of deep mesial temporal sources (Mendeley Data 8wz3wvm9y5)

  • Units: µV, from the release description (amplitudes and thresholds are given in µV); the .mat files do not store units.

  • Each release cell array has one extra last row with a different length (775 samples) that is not a 512-sample epoch; it is not written to the BIDS runs (kept in sourcedata; see code/conversion_report.json, dropped_rows).

  • No contact coordinates are released: electrodes.tsv lists the contacts implied by the bipolar labels with n/a coordinates. Shaft -> structure table from the release (SEEG electrodes.docx, internal/external structure): P temporal pole/temporal pole, A amygdala/superior temporal gyrus, B anterior hippocampus/middle temporal gyrus, C posterior hippocampus/middle temporal gyrus, TB entorhinal cortex/inferior temporal gyrus, TM parahippocampal gyrus/middle temporal gyrus, F fusiform gyrus/middle temporal gyrus, H insular cortex/Heschl gyrus, T insular cortex/superior temporal gyrus. Shafts with a b suffix (Ab, Bb, …) are not described in the release.

  • Age and sex per patient are not released.

NEMAR Processing Statistics#

The plots below are generated by NEMAR’s automated EEG pipeline. The histogram shows pipeline success for data cleaning and ICA decomposition, the percentage of data frames and EEG channels retained after artefact removal, line noise per channel (RMS, dB), and the age/gender distribution of participants.

Notes

Each item is a recording; recording-level metadata are available via dataset.description. query supports MongoDB-style filters on fields in ALLOWED_QUERY_FIELDS and is combined with the dataset filter. Dataset-specific caveats are not provided in the summary metadata.

Examples

>>> from eegdash.dataset import NM000513
>>> dataset = NM000513(cache_dir="./data")
>>> recording = dataset[0]
>>> raw = recording.load()
__init__(cache_dir: str, query: dict | None = None, s3_bucket: str | None = None, **kwargs)[source]#
save(path: str, overwrite: bool = False, offset: int = 0)[source]#

Save datasets to files by creating one subdirectory for each dataset:

path/
    0/
        0-raw.fif | 0-epo.fif
        description.json
        raw_preproc_kwargs.json (if raws were preprocessed)
        window_kwargs.json (if this is a windowed dataset)
        window_preproc_kwargs.json  (if windows were preprocessed)
        target_name.json (if target_name is not None and dataset is raw)
    1/
        1-raw.fif | 1-epo.fif
        description.json
        raw_preproc_kwargs.json (if raws were preprocessed)
        window_kwargs.json (if this is a windowed dataset)
        window_preproc_kwargs.json  (if windows were preprocessed)
        target_name.json (if target_name is not None and dataset is raw)
Parameters:
  • path (str) –

    Directory in which subdirectories are created to store

    -raw.fif | -epo.fif and .json files to.

  • overwrite (bool) – Whether to delete old subdirectories that will be saved to in this call.

  • offset (int) – If provided, the integer is added to the id of the dataset in the concat. This is useful in the setting of very large datasets, where one dataset has to be processed and saved at a time to account for its original position.
