About This Dataset#

Intraoperative local field potentials from the subthalamic nucleus (STN) of patients with Parkinson’s disease

undergoing DBS surgery, recorded with microelectrodes while they performed a stop-signal reaction time task. THIS IS A DERIVATIVE DATASET. The release provides the continuous STN LFP only as the authors’ filtered 250 Hz EEGLAB files. Each recording exists in a 0.5 Hz and a 2 Hz high-pass version; only the 0.5 Hz version is included here.

Both Figshare files matched their MD5 checksums.

DOI

Human STN LFP during a stop-signal task (STN delta) - DERIVATIVE

  • The original release (human-STN-delta_data.zip, 8.5 GB) also contains single-/multi-unit waveforms and spike times (MClust/CellBase), behavioural trial files, scalp EEG (intraoperative and postoperative) and epoched/CSD files. They are not repackaged here: BIDS-iEEG has no spike format, scalp EEG is not intracranial, and the epoched files duplicate the continuous data. Get them from the Figshare record. The release’s session folder names are surgery dates, so they are not copied.

Contents

  • 13 patients (sub-pd<NN> = release patient id), 24 recordings, 5.13 h at 250 Hz.

  • ses-intraop<k>: intraoperative session k of that patient (ordered by date; dates removed).

  • acq-<side>stim<off|on>: hemisphere and the release’s stimulation label (folder stim<off|on>_<side>_LFP).

  • Channels Ch1..Ch5: the release’s microelectrode tracks (type DBS, µV, values unchanged as float32).

  • events.tsv: the EEGLAB annotations (StimulusOn, KeyPress1, Feedback, StopSignal, …).

  • No coordinates are released; electrodes.tsv lists the tracks with x, y, z = n/a and the stated target (STN).

Recording dates (in the release folder names) are dropped. No names were found.

NEMAR Processing Statistics#

The plots below are generated by NEMAR’s automated EEG pipeline. The histogram shows pipeline success for data cleaning and ICA decomposition, the percentage of data frames and EEG channels retained after artefact removal, line noise per channel (RMS, dB), and the age/gender distribution of participants.

Examples

>>> from eegdash.dataset import NM000424
>>> dataset = NM000424(cache_dir="./data")
>>> recording = dataset[0]
>>> raw = recording.load()
__init__(cache_dir: str, query: dict | None = None, s3_bucket: str | None = None, **kwargs)[source]#
save(path: str, overwrite: bool = False, offset: int = 0)[source]#

Save datasets to files by creating one subdirectory for each dataset:

path/
    0/
        0-raw.fif | 0-epo.fif
        description.json
        raw_preproc_kwargs.json (if raws were preprocessed)
        window_kwargs.json (if this is a windowed dataset)
        window_preproc_kwargs.json  (if windows were preprocessed)
        target_name.json (if target_name is not None and dataset is raw)
    1/
        1-raw.fif | 1-epo.fif
        description.json
        raw_preproc_kwargs.json (if raws were preprocessed)
        window_kwargs.json (if this is a windowed dataset)
        window_preproc_kwargs.json  (if windows were preprocessed)
        target_name.json (if target_name is not None and dataset is raw)
Parameters:
  • path (str) –

    Directory in which subdirectories are created to store

    -raw.fif | -epo.fif and .json files to.

  • overwrite (bool) – Whether to delete old subdirectories that will be saved to in this call.

  • offset (int) – If provided, the integer is added to the id of the dataset in the concat. This is useful in the setting of very large datasets, where one dataset has to be processed and saved at a time to account for its original position.
